Uncanny!

Uncanny (uhn-kan-ee) -Adjective

Definition: having or seeming to have a supernatural or inexplicable basis; beyond the ordinary or normal. (dictionary.com)

Translated definition: something that is out of the norm, or out of this world
Forms: uncannily (adverb), uncanniness (noun)

Sentences:
1. It is uncanny how similar you two look; I can't explain it but it's like you are twins.
2. Mr.Incredibles power's are uncanny because it's so unreal that anyone would actually be that strong.

Synonyms:
Uncanny is very similar to the word exceptional, but it's different because exceptional is used more to describe amazing things whereas uncanny can go more on the strange or wierd side.

Antonyms:
Uncanny is pretty much the exact opposite of the word common.

Best time to use:
Uncanny is not that uncommon of a word, I think it would be okay to use in everyday context, but not just with anyone. People our age or older would be an appropriate audience!

Rate its usefulness:
I give "uncanny" four out of five stars because although it is a more difficult word, you are able to use it in everday converstaion. However, it's not the best word ever.

Picture:
This picture represents the word uncanny because it's very strange for dogs to look like their owners!
