Use of the word "destitute":
When using the word destitute, it would be most effective in a conversation with an economist. You could be talking about the social aspects of economics, and how a bad economy can cause many people to lose their jobs, homes, and possibly everything else they have, driving them towards destitution and poverty. Additionally, it would be a good word to use while trying to persuade someone about the tradgedy of poverty and homelessness. I think it would be very persuasive because it is a dramatic word- much more so than poor or hungry- and it encapsulates many words like those into one. It is a very effective word.
Synonyms: Some synonyms to the word destitute are "poor" and "needy". Destitute is a lot similar to the word poor because people living in destitution are usually very poor but they are different because destitute means a lot more than just lacking in just money.
Anonyms: "Rich" is the exact opposite of the word destitue, destitute means lacking and devoid of everything whereas rich means full of life and is totally opposite of destitute.
Usefulness: I give destitute five out of five stars. Destitute is not a very hard word to understand and it can be easliy used by a lot of people so it is very useful.
